Lady Babylon presents the scholarship of Dr. D. C. A. Ammon Hillman: his readings of the ancient Greek and Roman sources, the Greek language, and the history of drugs, medicine and religion. It is an agnostic archive. It records his work faithfully and points to the primary sources so you can weigh them yourself. The archive presents Dr. Hillman’s work in full, including frank scholarly discussion of ancient texts, among them descriptions of violence and abuse. Concerning children

On one axis the archive does not bend. Material concerning minors is stated only at the level of a cited claim, and is never reproduced, depicted, sexualised, or elaborated. Sensitive material is withheld pending review. Nothing here endorses, encourages, or instructs the abuse of children, or of any person. Concerning Drugs

The ancient world was awash in pharmakon, for medicinal and magical reasons. Material concerning drugs is scholarly and meant to explain the ancient practices in a scholarly way to a general audience. Concerning Satanism

The Satan described by Dr Hillman (e.g. when he says Hail Satan) is the Saturn or Bacchus of the ancient world, said as a wake up call, or representation of nature, and is not to be confused with the flattened distorted modern Christian Satan. We do not condone or advocate for modern Christian Satanism, and Dr Hillman rejects it as well, we do not condone evil of any form. See Hail Satan for his choice of wording.

Introduction

Who's Dr Hillman? Who's Ammon? Who's LadyBabylon? What the heck is all this?

He's an experienced Classical Philologist with pharmacological knowledge (he also reads the ancient medical texts), who also reads biblical texts, who's answering questions like

  • "How did we get here today?", "what was happening pre-christianity?"
  • "What is a Christ?" and "Who was the First Christ?"
  • "What were the mystery schools in ancient greece all about?"
  • "What's the knowledge _behind_ the mystical texts, what's the physics here?"
  • "What did the church have against witches?"
  • "Who wrote the bible?"
  • "What was Jesus doing at 4am with a n4k3d kid?" (dont you want to know?)
